The main advantage of OOP is better manageable code that covers the following points. 1) The overall understanding of the software is increasing as the distance between the language spoken by developers and that spoken by users. 2) Object orientation eases maintenance by the use of the encapsulation concept. One can easily change the underlying representation by keeping the methods as same. OOP paradigm is mainly using for relatively big software.

Encapsulation is referred to as one of the following two notions. 1) Data hiding: A c++ language feature to restrict access to members of an object. For example, private and protected members in C++.language. 2) binding of data and methods together: Data and methods that operate on that data are bundled together.

Following are the basic concepts of OOPS: 1. Abstraction 2. Encapsulation 3. Inheritance 4. Polymorphism

Abstraction refers to hiding internal details and showing functionality

Inheritance is the process of acquiring all the properties and behavior of the exiting class into the new class. The existing class is called a base or parent class and the inherited class is called a derived or child class.

An object is a real-world entity that is the basic unit of object-oriented programming. for example chair, cat, dog, etc. Different objects having different states or attributes, and behaviors.

Method overloading is one of the features of OOPs which makes it possible to allow the same name to more than one method within a class if the arguments passed differently.

A class is a prototype it contains the objects in different states and with different behaviors. It has several methods that are common to the objects present within that class.

Single inheritance • Multiple inheritances • Multilevel inheritance • Hierarchical inheritance • Hybrid inheritance

Polymorphism is nothing but assigning behavior or value in a subclass to something that was already declared in the super or main class. polymorphism means multiple forms.

Manipulators are the functions that can be used in conjunction with the insertion (<<) and extraction (>>) operators on an object. Examples are endl and setw.

Hybrid inheritance is a combination of multiple and multi-level inheritances.

Hierarchical inheritance refers to inheritance where one base class has more than one subclass. For example, the shape class can have ‘rectangle’, ‘triangle’, etc as its subclasses.

• Increases the time and effort require to execute a program as it requires jumping back and forth between different classes • The parent class and the child class are gets tightly coupled • Any modifications to the program would require changes in both the parent and child class • Needs careful implementation else would lead to incorrect results or output

A destructor is a method that is automatically called when the object is made of scope or destroyed. Destructor name is also the same as the class name but it is prefixed with a tilde symbol.

An inline function is a powerful concept used by the compilers and instructs to insert the complete body of the function wherever that function is used in the program source code

A superclass is a class that acts as a parent to some other class or classes. For example, the shape class is a superclass of the class rectangle.

Operator overloading is a function used to overload or redefines most of the operators available in C++. the Operator,-,* can be used to pass through the functions, and it has its precedence to execute it

An abstract class is a class that is not instantiated. The object creation is not possible with an abstract class, but it can be inherited. An abstract class contains only an Abstract method.

Finalize is an object method that helps to perform cleanup operations on the resources which are not currently used. Finalize method is protected, and it is accessible only by the class or by a derived class.

The super keyword is used to invokes the overridden methods which overrides one of the superclass methods. This keyword allows to access the overridden methods and also to access hidden members of the superclass.

Method overriding is a feature that allows a subclass to provide the implementation of a method that overrides the base class. It will override the implementation in the base class by providing the same method name, same parameter, and same return type.

An interface is a collection of an abstract method. If the class implements an interface, then it inherits all the abstract methods of an interface.

An exception is an event that occurs during the execution of a program or code. Exceptions are of any type – Runtime exception, Error exceptions. Those exceptions are adequately handled by the exception handling mechanism like try, catch, and throw keywords
