The registration process includes three steps:

How to fill the Online Application Form?

Interested candidates have to apply for the Common Admission Test 2022 in online mode only.

Step 1: First, visit the official website i.e. Click here & click the “New Candidate Registration” tab.

Step 2: Click on the “Generate OTP” tab. The candidate will receive OTP his/ her registered email id.

Step 3: Then log in and fill in the following details,

Preview Registration form

The candidate should preview the form before making payment. The candidate cannot make any changes in the application form upon payment of the fee. So do not forget to check the filled application form before paying form fee.

Confirmation email after a successful registration

The candidate will receive a confirmation email after the payment of the fee.

Forgot Login ID

Click the "Forgot User ID/ Password" tab and enter the registered email ID and captcha. The candidate will receive the CAT user ID on the registered email id.

Forgot Login Password

Click the "Forgot User ID/ Password" tab available on the home page of the official CAT website. Enter your registered email ID and captcha. The candidate will receive the new password on the registered email id. If the candidate were using multiple passwords, candidates should use the password which is in the most recent SMS received from IIM.

Application Form Correction Window

The IIM opens the correction window for the application form closes it within two days. The candidates can modify mistakes in scanned images of photographs, signatures, or other documents during the period of the CAT application form correction window. The candidate can make changes to the test city option. The candidate must log in and adjust the images as needed.

Unchangeable details in Registration

The candidate cannot edit the personal details like Candidate Name, Date of Birth (DOB), Email Address & Mobile Number, after confirmation of form submission.

In such a case, they have to register again with a new email id.

Common Admission Process 2022 has two stages - Shortlisting for Personal Appearance Round (PA) and Final Selection.

There is no fixed number of attempts. The candidate can apply how many times he/ she wants.

The CAT 2022 has Computer Based Mode (CBT). Every right answer carries 3 marks. Every wrong answer carries -1. Non-MCQs or TITA (type in the answer) questions do not have negative marking.

CAT is one of the most difficult MBA entrance exams in India. The expected difficulty level of CAT 2022 is moderate to high.

As per last year’s trend, a total of 54 multiple choice questions and 22 Non- Multiple choice questions are there in the exam.

Out of 100, 70-75 correct answers is a good attempt in CAT. Each candidate should aim to solve 70-75 questions accurately. In CAT 2020 the total number of questions was 76 so about 50 good attempts are enough to good percentile score.

Out of VARC, DILR, and QA sections, the last one is the toughest because the syllabus is mathematics-based and has complex calculations. However, many candidates also find VARC difficult due to its dense and confusing Reading Compression passages.

Yes, it is necessary to clear sectional cut-offs too. The IIMs and other top B-Schools shortlist based on overall CAT cut off as well as sectional CAT cut-offs.

No, it is compulsory to clear both overall and sectional cut-offs to get shortlisted.

If a student meets the qualifying cut off but not the final cut off, they will not receive calls from the IIMs to participate in WAT/GD-PI round.

The CAT cut off a range of newer IIMs is in between 90 to 95 percentile for General category students.
